What are Porcelain Veneers?

Your smile defines your overall appearance and improving your smile alone can often give you a more youthful and far more attractive look. In most cases cosmetic dentistry is faster and less uncomfortable than cosmetic surgery.

Veneers have the ability to drastically change the appearance of your teeth like no other cosmetic treatment can. Fantastic results are achieved thanks to the care and techniques used by Dr Ahmed.

A Veneer is a thin shell of porcelain which is made to fit exactly over the tooth to improve its appearance.

They are the ideal choice for improving your smile and today are ever increasing in popularity as they are versatile.

Treatment involves designing and assessing your occlusion (the way in which your teeth meet). Placing custom made veneers requires a high degree of technical skill and cosmetic detail from both your dentist and technician.

Some of the outer enamel surface of your tooth may need removing to allow room for the veneer to be bonded into the correct position. The tooth preparation may be done under a local anesthetic, often this is not necessary.

The veneers should last for many years – high quality materials which are compressed porcelain and reinforced will be used at the practice. The workmanship comes with a 5year guarantee.

Small chips can be repaired easily, and if accidental breakage occurs it is usually possible to replace only the veneer involved.

Your clinician may advise you to wear a bite appliance to prolong and protect your veneers.

What are Composite Veneers?

Lee had here Diastema s (spaces between the teeth) closed, with highly cosmetic white composite filling material. The new nano technology in these materials allows the change to be as real as the natural teeth will allow. The composite veneers seen above are half the price of porcelain veneers, do not require injections and can be done in one sitting. What Lee thought was impossible without spending thousands of pounds or upto two years was all done by dr ahmed in 2 Hours!
