Avoiding the Dentist Can Be a Costly Decision

Feb 18, 2020

Maintaining regular check-ups with your dentist is important in preventing oral health issues. Even if you think you are not experiencing any dental issues you should still have your teeth assessed and cleaned by a dentist every 6 to 12 months.
Preventative care is a vital part of looking after your teeth and gums and helping protect your smile.
People may not attend regular dentist appointments to save money, but this can be short-sighted. Oral issues are easier to treat when picked up early. Any delay can see issues like cavities and gum disease escalate to the point it costs more to treat since the procedures become more involved and may require multiple visits.
People who suffer dental phobia or anxiety are at increased risk of poor oral health. Modern dentistry can help ease anxiety with methods such as sedation. At Longwood House we have experts that help patients with anxiety and can administer nitrous oxide inhalation sedation or intravenous sedation.
A lack of oral care resulting from dental phobia can lead to more visits to treat resulting conditions such as advanced gum disease and tooth decay.
Whatever the reason you put off visiting the dentist, it can cost you more in the long term in time spent at the dentist, additional anxiety and cost, especially if you do not have dental insurance.
At Longwood House, private examinations with a regular hygiene can be obtained with good experienced dentists for as little as £7.00 per month on our practice membership plan.
We offer dental finance and 10 percent off most treatments.
